The controller responsible for processing personal data on this website is SCHAFFER SÄGEWERK-HOLZEXPORT GmbH, Hintersieding 12, 8741 Eppenstein, Austria, phone: +43 3577 82 29 5-0, e-mail: schaffer@schafferholz.com.
This website is purely informational. We use no tracking, analytics or advertising services, no advertising networks, no videos and no social media plugins. All fonts, scripts and images are loaded directly from our own server; no data is transmitted to third parties. The only exception is the directions map on the contact page (Google Maps), which is loaded only with your consent (see section 6). We store your choice in the cookie banner locally in your browser (see section 5).
When you visit the website, the web server processes technically necessary data: IP address, date and time of access, page requested, amount of data transferred, referrer URL, and browser and operating system information. The purpose is the secure and stable operation of the website. The legal basis is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The data is stored only for a short period and is not combined with other data. We use a hosting provider that acts as our processor under Art. 28 GDPR.
If you contact us by e-mail or phone, we process your details (e.g. name, contact data, content of your enquiry) to handle your request and for follow-up questions. The legal basis is pre-contractual or contractual necessity (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) or our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We do not pass this data on without your consent and delete it once it is no longer needed and no statutory retention obligations apply.
This website does not set any cookies itself (no tracking, analytics or advertising cookies). On your first visit we show a banner where you decide whether external media (Google Maps) may be loaded. We store your choice solely locally in your browser (local storage, entry “sh-consent”) for 12 months, so that we do not have to ask you on every page view and can document your decision. This entry is technically necessary (Section 165(3) of the Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021; legal basis Art. 6(1)(c) and (f) GDPR) and is not transmitted to us or to third parties. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. Exception: if you allow Google Maps, Google may set cookies on your device (see section 6).
On the contact page we offer a directions map from Google Maps (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). The map is only loaded when you allow “External media” in the cookie banner or click “Load Google Maps” on the contact page. Only then is a connection to Google’s servers established; in particular your IP address and browser information are transmitted, and Google may set cookies. Data may also be transferred to the USA (Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework). The legal basis is your consent through your choice in the banner or by clicking (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer (disable external media). Cookies already set by Google can be deleted in your browser settings. The “Get directions” link opens Google Maps in a new tab. Information from Google: policies.google.com/privacy.
Our website contains links to external third-party websites (e.g. funding bodies). When you click such a link you leave our website; the respective operator is responsible for data processing there.
This website does not use any AI systems (e.g. chatbots or automated profiling) that process visitors’ data.
Data transmitted between your browser and our website is encrypted (TLS/HTTPS).
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21). Please contact us at the address above. You may also lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority: Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, www.dsb.gv.at.
